Description: Here are two unusual tools from the now-defunct G. W. Mount Company of Greenfield, Massachusetts, which seems to have made supplies for upholsterers. Both have "MOUNT" forged into one handle. They appear to be made of cast steel. The tool on the left in the first pic is some kind of specialized plier. It's 8 1/4" long and its jaw width is 3 1/2".The second tool appears to be a crimper of some sort, though what it was used to crimp, I don't know. The number "5" is stamped inside the crimp jaws. It's 6 1/2" long. Both tools are in as-found condition. They both have considerable surface rust and paint loss. Both, however, are in good working condition, with no apparent damage to either one.The pivot on the pliers is smooth with only a little excess play. The crimper mechanism also works well and the return spring is effective. These could be easily cleaned up to look nice, or left with the patina they now have.If anyone out there knows more about these items, please get in touch.Price is for both tools.
