Description: Being offered is a pair of ORIGINAL, VINTAGE issues of the New York Times newspaper from Tuesday October 6 & Wednesday October 7, 1942. These COMPLETE newspapers (2 sections, 44 pgs & 52 pgs respectively) are loaded with all the international, national, regional NY news, entertainment, sports, business and advertising of the day. Highlights in these editions include the St. Louis Cardinals beating the New York Yankees to win the World Series, WWII events in Guadalcanal, the Solomon Islands & Stalingrad. These newspapers are folded in the middle as they are home delivery editions and not cut from a bound volume. In GOOD condition for their age, they show yellowing, some staining, edge tears and flaking and is fragile, especially along the spine and fold lines. Be advised that some pages may show separation at the spine due to the fragility of the paper. Great pieces of Americana for the ephemera history collector. Thanks for looking! NOTICE: Due to the current conditions, the Post Office is falling behind in the processing and shipping of the mail. Tracking information and shipping updates are delinquent or nonexistent. Please be advised that there can be extended delays, sometimes lasting many days beyond any proposed delivery date posted in the item description. Efforts are being made to find alternative shipping methods while still trying to remain cost efficient. Thank you for your understanding with this matter and purchase accordingly, knowing that I have no control over when the Post Office delivers the mail. Thank you for your business. Sarge
