According to the teaching of the Catholic church, the use of the sacraments such as this medal gives extraordinary graces to those who wear it and pray for Mary's intercession and help. They are oval in shape and bear the words, " O Mary! conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!, these start at Mary's right hand and continue over her head ending at her left hand. One of the medals is marked ITALY (a little larger and thinner) and the other is marked FRANCE. Both measure around 3/4 to 7/8 inch in length. Each hasve been used and stored and show a little wear and soil. I have not cleaned as will leave that to expert/new owner. See photos for best idea of condition.
