Description: Recent Northern Virginia estate find. We purchased a very large number of French Faience style pottery pieces and will be listing several items on eBay over the next couple of weeks from this estate. These pieces are in overall outstanding condition and include some very obscure and rare pieces from a very established collector. Offering a beautiful pair of French, 8" oval plates featuring a a Breton man and woman. Obviously some type of "General Assemble" commemorative plates for the region of Etables, France. Not much is know other than what you see on the reverse side. Both are hand signed. Excellent overall condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or stains. The colors are vibrant and the glaze has a very nice sheen; no evidence of use. Pease see photographs for overall condition, design, and dimensions. Click on each for a larger, expanded view.
