These amazing limited edition lithograph prints by Robert Katona from 1975 will help set the tone for any regal room, office, lodge, den or other. Absolutely stunning display pop! We love Katona's older bird pencils, he really captures their character in great detail. We just added the second "ASSAULT" print to this listing to add value for nearly the same price as before. The "BALD EAGLE" (left in 1st picture) is in one of the nicest antique oak frames we have ever seen and we sell a lot of art. The rich grained oak frame in high gloss and muted gold gesso is bold, much as the eagle in Katona's work. These are earlier works from Katona who is still an active artist today but works in much different media (flowing acrylics in high color mixing abstract and realism) than his early pencil works. Katona is world renown for his innovative works with a career spanning over five decades. Many of his works are in Museums, and private collections of noted people like Willie Nelson, the late John Denver and others. He is also a noted Falconer (and used his art to advance their study and preservation) among many other varied interests, truly a creative and talented person and a really fun study for fans of the arts. The prints are in very nice condition as shown in pictures and are hand signed, labeled and numbered as shown in pictures. There is some very light foxing in non visible areas of the print of the "BALD EAGLE" under the mating. You can see it if you look closely in some of pictures in gallery where it is out of the frame, but they have no impact on display quality of the print. The Oak frame is in very nice shape for its age which is likely 1880-1890's, but has a little separation at wood seams as is common. The glass appears to have some waviness in it, like in older glass but its fairly minor, maybe a transition time when glass making was advancing a bit from the 1880's. The frame alone should be worth over $300-$500 and we have been offered over $300 just for the frame, but do not want to split up the pair. The "ASSUALT PRINT" (right in first photo) was already professionally framed when we acquired it, so it should be in excellent to mint condition. We took multiple pictures for your consideration. It has a museum quality UV Glass and frame is solid. If you love eagles as we do, these can be treasure for years. We will pack these with great care in same package, but may take an extra day, as packing will take 1-2 hours. They will be paper, bubble wrap, and Styrofoam lined with extra protection all around.
