Description: Republican candidate, Wendell Willkie had an unenviable task in 1940, when he was chosen to run against the popular incumbent president, Franklin D. Roosevelt. Willkie and his supporters put out a ton of material against FDR, who was doing what no president in the past had done, and that was to declare himself for a third presidential term. But all that stuff didn't help Wendell beat Franklin, and Willkie only won 82 electoral votes. Here are two, similar, (likely) women's lapel pins, showing the republican elephant mascot, one with Willkie's name above it. They are each @ 1" x 5/8" and probably made of brass. They are in nice condition but please look at our images to judge this for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence. We'll be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases which we do by issuing a refund. Shipping on this will be $5.85, carefully packed with tracking. 9357
