Description: Here is yet another of the Sherlock Holmes related titles that I acquired recently that belonged to a law enforcement officer and Sheriff as shown by his personal library book plate affixed on the inside front cover. This is a first edition first printing as shown on the copyright page published by Carroll & Graf in 1987. This anthology contains all new stories from such great mystery writers as Loren D. Estleman, Peter Lovesey, John Gardner and even Stephen King has contributed a newly written story. This copy is in excellent condition. The binding is square, tight, and the text is immaculate throughout. The dark blue leatherette boards are spotless as is the spine. The white lettering on the spine is in pristine condition as shown. The bottom spine end has the very lightest of corner wear and the four corners of this copy are in excellent condition also as shown in the photos provided. The illustrations throughout are most from the Strand Magazine which published most of Conan Doyle’s stories. The page preceding the title page is a facsimile of the first page of A Study In Scarlet published in Beeton’s Christmas Annual published in 1887. The dust jacket is complete and has the original price which was re-priced by the publisher with a sticker as shown. There is very little wear to this jacket but for a small tear at the bottom of the front panel, a tiny scrape in the letter “T” of the title, and a small tear at the front fold flap. This copy will make a wonderful addition to any Sherlockian collection or library. Please see all pics and ask any questions you may have and as always I never list ex library or book club editions so buy with confidence. And please check out my 100% positive seller feedback!!! Thanks for looking.
