This is The Story Of Man In Yellowstone by Merrill D. Beal, a park ranger himself born in Richfield, Utah. This copy is a first edition first printing published by the storied and highly collectible publisher The Caxton Printers, Ltd. from Caldwell, Idaho. This copy is quite nice especially condensed it’s seventy-four year old existence. The binding is square and tight and immaculate throughout. The mustard-colored cloth boards are spotless and the purple lettering on the spine is in pristine condition. There is light wear to the spine ends as shown in the photos provided. The original orange topstain is still very evident on the upper page block also as shown. The book is illustrated with photographs and drawings covering our first National Park and man’s history in it. A most interesting read and a must for Caxton collectors. The dust jacket is complete and has the original price of $5.00 present on the front flap. There is wear to this jacket and the most glaring is the open tear to the lower right corner of the front panel. There is also wear at the spine ends and a crease that runs the length of the spine however the Caxton name is still present and legible. There is more wear that I have photographed mostly at the corners and along the edges but this book and jacket is still very beautiful and presentable as shown.
