Description: 19th Century Silver Sherbet Spoon Turkish Coin/Tughras Moon & Star Ottoman This is a late 19th/early 20th-century silver sherbet spoon with an interesting Ottoman design. The spoon features a long twisted handle topped with a moon and a star over a crown. It was made using an antique silver coin from Turkey with a sultan's tughra on both sides. The handle is marked with 800, and the length suggests that it was used to stir drinks in tall glasses, such as a sherbet. This original piece from Ottoman Turkey is a beautiful and unusual item. It measures about 28cm long. Total Weight: 53 grams It is in excellent condition for its age.It will need a good polishing.
