19th C. Miniature Watercolor Portrait Painting, Lady in Red Hat (#1)

Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely 19th Century framed miniature watercolor portrait painting of a young woman wearing a red dress and red hat. The portrait has delicate, precise hand painted features with long blond hair under her large red hat. The oval portrait is held in place behind slightly convex glass with a brass/bronze bezel and is mounted in a mother-of-pearl banded hand-cut piano key frame of the period with an attachment at top for hanging. The frame measures 5 3/4" high, 5" wide and 1/2" deep with the oval site measuring 3 1/4" by 2 3/8". Weighs 4.9 ounces. The painting is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. There is some minor separation and faint cracks on the frame (see photos).
