The reverse side has strip maps of interstate highways in the state, with diagrams of exits and entrances. The map was published by the State of Alabama Department of Transportation and is labeled on the cover as the 1997-1998 edition. A printed note in the legend says "Status of construction as of January 1997." The rear cover has portraits of Governor Fob James, Jr. and Transportation Director Jimmy Butts.
