Description: This is for an original full ticket from the September 21 1996 game between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. The game would go 10 innings with both teams pounding out 11 runs after 9 innings. John Wetteland would come in to hold the Red Sox scoreless in the top of the 9th and 10th, but Red Sox reliever Joe Hudson would start the Yankees 10th off by allowing a leadoff single to Wade Boggs who would be sacrificed to second by Ruben Rivera. After a walk to Cecil Fielder, Tino Matinez would fly out to deep center so Hudson would pitch around Bernie Williams for another walk to load the bases. This would bring shortstop and rookie of the year Derek Jeter to the plate who would promptly single through the middle for his first career walk off hit to give the Yankees a 12-11 victory. Ticket is in beautiful condition and is one of only 2 graded at PSA 9 with none higher. A must have for any Yankee or Derek Jeter fan. As a side note to the game, Paul O’Neil and Cecil Fielder would homer in this game and there was also a 2 homer performance by Tim Raines. As another sidenote, one of Raines homers would come off of Pat Mahomes, the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. This is Derek Jeters first walk off hit and he would end his career with a walk off hit at Yankee Stadium. You can’t make this stuff up. Check out the scan and email with any questions.
