Description: These are about 1/10 as common as the 1985 or 1986 Netherlands ducats. There were 103,863 of the 1985 ducats struck and 95,091 of the 1986 ducats struck. For 1993 there were only 11,100 struck. There are 5 in all grades at NGC, with three graded higher than this coin (two in 69 and one in 70). These ducats are struck in a style inspired by the 17th and early 18th century Utrecht mint ducats. These were struck in this same style for 1986, then from 1989 through and including 2016. In 2017 there was a special issue that looks more like the 1985 and all other 20th century ducats. From 2018 through this year 2023 the ducats have been struck in a new style that resembles the Holland ducats of the 18th century, all with mintages of about 1,000 or less.
