Description: This is a used 1991-1992 3000GT VR-4 or Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo 2-bolt main turbo oil pan that has been modified. Alterations include an extra 2 quart capacity for oil as well as internal baffles and trap doors. These are listed for $599 + $150 core at 3SX and are made directly by me. Skip the middleman and the huge markup that the vendor is known for and buy direct. There is no core charge and it's included in the buy-it-now price. This will not work for a 1993-1999 4-bolt main turbo motor since the oil pans are different and due to these selling out, I do not have any 4-bolt main 93-99 oil pans available as cores. You may be wondering why you need this? 99% of all spun main bearings that these cars are known for are because of dented oil pans. You can see a comparison picture of this modified pan vs a new OEM oil pan. The modified pan has the same depth as the curved sump in the stock pan. This round sump at the bottom commonly gets used as a jacking point by mechanics and it ends up starving the engine of oil. The last picture in this listing shows a cut away of a customer's 650awhp single turbo VR-4 setup. His oil pan wasn't dented in with a sunken look but rather flat. As you can see, there is literally 1/8" of clearance between the bottom of the oil pan and his oil pickup tube. This resulted in a starved motor and he blew up his fully built engine costing another $8000 for a rebuild. Don't let this happen to you. If you see your oil pan dented, get it fixed right away and push it back out after taking it off the vehicle. If you like, you can upgrade it while you're in there. Besides helping prevent your engine from blowing up, this oil pan will also keep the oil where it is supposed to be which is right at the oil pickup tube. What can happen at high rpms on launches or very fast turns that we know everyone loves doing with their AWD car, is that the oil gets sloshed away from the pickup tube. The baffling with two trap doors helps keep the oil under higher g-forces from completely getting pushed to the back of the pan and slows it down so it will be where it needs to be in order to protect your motor. This is a very good mod for both street and race use on your 6G72 engine. You will need to make sure you have good engine mounts. Worn out motor mounts will cause the engine to sag and the oil pan won't clear the subframe front to rear crossmember. Some users have reported issues with the 3SX poly motor mounts since they didn't always make them correctly with the right offset. You can space out the crossmember with washers if that is the case and still work perfectly fine. Also, this oil pan will not clear aftermarket downpipes that have a flex section between the front and rear banks. 3SX's newest downpipe is designed like this and the angle where the exhaust bellow is at is too large of diameter to clear. Most manufacturers built their downpipes with a flex section in the rear near the cat after the merge so you should be fine but is worth noting so you can check what you have. These usually don't last that long and are not listed continuously here on eBay. I have them for sale on the forums and Facebook groups as well so I'll end the listing when it's gone. Let me know if you have any other questions. Check out my other listings for more fabricated parts for your 3000GT or Stealth. I only have a fraction of what I offer listed here. I've been a long-time owner of these cars for 20 years now so if you need any build advice as well, just send me a message. I'm sure we can come up with what you need.
