Description: You are bidding on the exact box pictured. This box is authenticated as FASC by BBCE and is in nearly mint condition, with only some minor 'squashing' that these boxes are known for when stacked under other cases. The high number series boxes are great for the pack ripper, as they are much less in price but still give you a chance to pull the Griffey. FASC is a necessity here as well, as you can be assured that no packs were opened and replaced, creating a frankenbox that may have worse odds of pulling a Griffey. What's to say about the first offering by Upper Deck, which proved to be the seminal product that changed the entire hobby? Printed on extremely high quality card stock with bright, vibrant images on both the front AND the back and with hologram technology to stymie counterfeiters, Upper Deck were greatly ahead of their time. When I was a kid, these packs were so far outside my league that I had never even opened a single pack. It wasn't until last year that I finally sat down and opened a few packs. I didn't get a Griffey, but it was a great thrill to get to open packs that my 10-year old self had so desired! This set has the obvious Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card, which currently sells for about $2k in GEM MT condition as well as a few other rookies, notably Randy Johnson, Craig Biggio, and Gary Sheffield. There's also the cool Nolan Ryan 'football' card that's only available in the high number series, and it's great fun to find one of these in a pack! $10 shipping to the lower 48.
