Description: 1986 World Series Game 7 - New York Mets vs Boston Red Sox - Original Game Ticket Stub in Very Good to Excellent condition with some light crease as seen in the listing photographs. Game 7 was won by the Mets 8-5 coming back from a 3-0 deficit to score 3 runs each in the sixth and seventh innings then adding 2 more in the home eighth to win the 1986 World Series in front of 55,032 fans at Shea Stadium. While Ray Knight of the Mets was the series MVP it was seemingly unlikely as he did not play in Game 2, and had just one hit through the first three games of the series and was actually hitting just .205 thru Game 5. Game 6 he picked up a couple of singles, but he is probably most remembered for scoring the Mets winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning following Bill Buckner's error after the Red Sox twice came within one strike of winning the game & the World Series.Ray Knight went 3for 4 in the seventh game and his seventh inning home run was instrumental in the Mets win. This was the first World Series to feature the Designated Hitter, but only in the American League Red Sox home games at Fenway Park in Boston. Some fans drove between the two cities for games and others flew the low cost carrier New York Air shuttle or "The Nosh Airline" as it was nicknamed. While the airline ceased to exist the following year included with this game ticket is a previously owned/used New York Air ticket wallet from back in the day (although it adds no value to this sale).
