Back in 1986 True Value Hardware produced a set of 30 cards to be distributed as a premium for spending $5 or more. Each promotional pack would include three cards from the set, and an advertising promotion of a featured product. The cards and ads were connected by perforated edges, and sealed at back. With 30 cards in the set, that meant you needed 10 different packs to get a complete set. This set is filled with Hall of Fame players (Tom Seaver, Reggie Jackson, Nolan Ryan, George Brett, Cal Ripken Jr), as well as fan favorites (Pete Rose, Fernando Valenzuela, Don Mattingly, Dale Murphy).
