Description: Handsome fold-out 1985 official highway map of Alabama, printed more than 37 years ago. The map opens to 18" x 26" and has great detail on road alignments and route numbers. There are inset plans of Birmingham, Montgomery, Gadsden, Huntsville, Mobile, Tuscaloosa, and Anniston. On the reverse side there are color photographs of scenes around the state, along with a portrait of George C. Wallace, then serving in his fourth term as governor. The map was published by the State of Alabama Highway Department and is labeled on the cover as the 1985-1986 edition. A printed note in the legend says "Status of construction as of Spring 1985." The cover photograph shows the offices of the Highway Department. Condition: This map is in very good condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears.
