Description: Maker: Yamaha Model: SG2000 Condition: very good Description: A vintage 1981 made in Japan Yamaha SG2000 in all original condition. While the lower 800 & 1000 models of the SG were set neck construction like a Les Paul the 2000's were a neck through body construction. The SG2000 was made famous by Carlos Santana's endorsement and design advice. Features a slightly thicker body (compared to a Les Paul) as requested by Santana to increase sustain, ebony fretboard with beautiful split trapezoid inlays, along with a brass mounting plate below the bridge for added sustain. These were top shelf builds quite ahead of the era. Although over 40 years old this one remains in very clean condition for it's age. Headstock is excellent as is the back of the neck, frets show only the lightest of marks in the root chord position. The body remains clean and vibrant with only light pick marks and a few clearcoat impressions on the front and some light edge marks and light surface scratches on the rear. Gold hardware shows some patina with age. Otherwise great shape for a vintage classic Has been fully inspected and setup here by our team at Coast Sonic and is ready for a new home. Includes gig bag Weight: 10lb 1oz Neck shape: C Shape, 12" Radius 1st Fret .798 12th Fret .975 Pickups: Neck 7.53k, Bridge 7.59k
