Description: This is a full carpet with padding from a 1978 Diamond Jubilee Edition Lincoln Mark V. Like the Collector's Series which followed in 1979, this carpet is twice as dense as the already luxurious standard carpet in Lincolns of the day (36oz compared to 18oz). The carpet fibers are twice as long for an especially soft feel.There is one small tear in the backing at the very front, left side of the transmission hump. A piece of carpet tape will secure this easily, no missing material, and is located well under the dash area when installed. No other damage and no "soft spots", nice strong backing throughout along with the original padding intact.Pictures were taken after just a vacuum and quick wipe down. Looks pretty good as is but would certainly benefit from a proper shampoo.Nice spare or possible improvement for your 1978 DJE Mark V, or recolor to a darker blue to be correct for the 1979 Collector's Series Mark V. OR recolor to any color at all for a nice upgrade to your 1977-1979 Mark V or 1972-1976 Mark IV (yes, they are the same), understanding that the center section has openings for the leather console which came with bucket type seats for all DJE Mark V's and most Collector's Series Mark Vs. In this case, a small clip from under a seat could be used to patch the exposed bracket opening up front.In any case, there is no aftermarket carpet offered that matches the standard carpet density for a Mark IV or Mark V, let alone this top-of-the-line version. Even their ultra-plush versions don't come close.
