Modelmaker at United Engineers & Constructors, a Raytheon Company subsidiary, cements one of the thousands of precisely positioned pipes and reinforcing rods on the engineering scale model of a nuclear power plant. Six men will work 14 months to complete details on the $350,000 model which will be used by the design and construction firm to double check drawings for a nuclear power plant and reaffirm the many safety features in its design. The 14-foot-high plastic model represents a finished structure of 220 feet high and 150 feet in diameter. The completed plant will contain about 170,000 cubic yards of concrete, 35,000 tons of steel, and 5 million feet of electurcal cable. Photo measures 8 x 10.5 inches. Photo is dated 06-03-1976.
