Vera (Textile Designer). Vera, the noted print designer, entertains all over the house, not just at the dining room table. Here, she sets a low table for four in front of a couch in the wood-paneled room housing her indoor swimming pool. This table setting expresses her belief that today's hostess should use pattern on pattern and unexpected combinations of color to create her own individual look. Here, Vera combines brown and white stoneware plates in an abstract-petal motif from her first dinnerware collection from Mikasa with a gay floral peasant stripe tablecloth and napkins in earth tones of brown, beige and black from her table linen collection. The napkins are folded like fans in the wine glasses. The Mexican candelabra, center, is from Vera's museum calibre folk art collection. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 11-1-1974.
