Description: 1973 North Carolina license plate CPB 155. Good original paint but has some wear to it. This particular tag was turned in back in the day and soon after found its way to the next door neighbor of a dmv worker who was a collector and asked his neighbor what they did with all the tags that were turned in so he wound up bringing him box loads. Guessing that was long before they recycled them. If you have a 1973 automobile registered in NC, you can display this tag on your car as long as you keep your real tag in the car along with the registration. Right now 1989 is the newest you can use on your car. Here is the law concerning it, this is straight from the DMV. You can have a Vintage tag displayed on the car, you will however have to purchase a "regular tag and registration" that must be kept in/with the car at all times so that at any time you are pulled, you will have the plate and registration card to show the vehicle is properly registered. Any motor vehicle of the age of 35 years or more from the date of manufacture may bear the license plates of the year of manufacture instead of the current registration plates, if the current registration plates are maintained within the vehicle. It falls under General Statue 20-63 (d). I am a car guy and would love to see what these go on, shoot me a picture when you get them mounted!
