Description: Program from a playoff game played at Madison Square Garden on 4/5/1972. The Rangers beat the Canadiens 3-2 in game 1 of the 1972 Quarterfinals. 13 Hall of Famers played in the game, Rod Gilbert, Brad Park, Glen Sather, Ed Giacomin, Yvan Cournoyer, Guy Lafleur, Jacques Laperriere, Guy Lapointe, Jacques Lemaire, Frank Mahovlich, Henri Richard, Serge Savard, and Ken Dryden. Both coaches were also Hall of Famers, Emile Francis and Scotty Bowman. Montreal played the game with only 15 players, 9 being Hall of Famers. Goals were scored by Bill Fairbairn, Claude Larose, Frank Mahovlich, and 2 by Vic Hadfield. Fairbairn's goal was his first career playoff goal. Gilbert and Park each had assists. It was both Guy Lafleur's first career NHL playoff game, as well as his first career playoff point, an assist. The Table of Contents page referred to it as the Rangers Hockey Magazine. Great old advertisements especially for NYC/area businesses and brands. Numbered to 72 pages but there are more as the numbering is erratic and also some separately numbered pages.
