Numerous pictures were taken to assist with the condition and content of the program. The 1972 Texas 500 was held at the 2 mile Texas World Speedway. This was the 31st and final race of the 1972 Winston Cup Season. A crowd of 33,000 would watch AJ Foyt lead the field of 44 to the green flag. Buddy Baker would win this race by a half car length over AJ Foyt. This was Baker's first win in the #71 K&K Dodge. Finishing third was Richard Petty, followed by Bobby Allison and Hershel McGriff. Petty would clinch his fourth Grand National title over Bobby Allison and James Hylton. Please review the other racing items I have listed.
