Description: I've never seen a sterling silver Christmas ornament I didn't like but if I could have only one collection it would be the American Heritage series. Not only because complete sets are very rare, but also because no other series captures Americana and the spirit of the traditional American Christmas as it does. Each ornament is large, unique, and beautifully sculpted. The series, beginning in 1972, was sold by subscription only and for the time was expensive. Over the years three prominent sterling silver companies have participated in the design and manufacture of the ornaments. I've listed below all 27 of the ornaments and the company which made each one. Many of the earlier Gorham ornament designs were sold at retailers but only authentic American Heritage ornaments are hallmarked with the American Heritage logo (see the picture above).
