Brett n1976-1977) Ulster Architectural Heritage society was founded in 1967 as part of a growing awareness of the value of historic buildings in Northern Ireland. The Society seeks to preserve the survival of these important buildings and is recognised as one of the most active of groups in the British Isles. One of the chief contributors to these volumes is C E B brett, a Northern irish solicitor, journalist and author. Brett was a founding member and first chairman of the society. He also served as President for the society from 1979 until his death. CONDITION In quarter cloth bindings with soft pictorial paper boards. Externally, generally smart with some bumping and wear to spines. Occasional lifting to backstrips. Some spotting to boards. Internally, all volumes generally firmly bound. Pages bright with some scattered spotting and occasional annotations. Overall Condition: Very Good GLOSSARY OF TERMS Overall Condition (Dustwrapper condition rating is shown after that for the book itself, where a dustwrapper is present) Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear Very Good Indeed - Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy Very Good - Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy Good - Meaning not very good. Some more serious faults as will be described in the condition report under 'condition' Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair Fair - As with good only above but with other faults leaving a compromised copy even after repair Poor - Really bad and possibly seriously incomplete.
