Description: This listing is for one (1) OEM, Genuine Norton, UK manufactured REAR Brake Pedal "Safety Spring" to fit Norton Commandos from 1968-1974. Part # 06-4142. This was designed to be used on the Commando rear DRUM brake. It does not fit the Mark III Electric Start rear disc models. It's purpose is to prevent the brake pedal from staying down and locking the rear wheel after the rear brake is applied. The brake pedal relies solely on the drum brake shoe springs to return the pedal to the upward, unapplied position. This little doggie gives the pedal an extra boost, making certain the pedal returns home. Application is pretty straight forward, install the spring around the brake pedal at the pivot point so that the spring applies pressure upwards.
