Overall: GOOD ————————————————————————— - ALL SCRIPTS MEASURE: 8.75” x 14” - ALL SCRIPTS FRONT COVER TITLE PAGES AND BACK COVER PAGES ARE THICK (double weight, almost like card stock). - ALL SCRIPTS ARE CUTTING CONTINUITY’S WHICH MEANS THEY HAVE DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF ACTION IN THE SCENES AS WELL AS SOUND EFFECTS, ACCENTS, EMOTIONS (IN SOME INSTANCES) & THEIR RESPECTIVE LINES. WHEN YOU READ THESE SCRIPTS YOU CAN ACTUALLY VISUALIZE AND HAVE A FEELING OF BEING IMMERSED IN THE MOVIE ITSELF! - ALL SCRIPTS ARE ORIGINAL (Printed date on title/cover page directly by Walt Disney / Buena Vista. These are NOT copies or reproductions). ***Scripts have been preserved inside of filing cabinets for more than 50 years (in some cases). I have provided images of the filing cabinets, in my possession - that I personally own and have these stored in (inside my office, smoke free, temperature controlled, no animals). More information on where these scripts came from and how I came to own them can be found detailed at length further below.**** ——VERY RARE SCRIPT INCLUDED—— ———WATCHER IN THE WOODS——— WATCHER IN THE WOODS had its premiere at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City on April 17, 1980, but was pulled from release after only ten days, and future screenings were canceled by the studio because of an overwhelming negative response from critics and audiences. Several changes were made thereafter, including the excision of a pre-credits sequence, and they even re-filmed an entirely new ending, which was directed by Vincent McEveety without Hough's involvement. Disney re-released the revised cut of the film on October 9, 1981 and that is what makes this script so valuable is that it is for the revised and final ending scene(s). STORY DEPARTMENT: The very end of this script contains an unusual Synopsis of WATCHER IN THE WOODS by Disney’s Story Department dated 7/9/81 and it spans 2 pages. Typically there are no story lines at the end but being that this is the revised ending script perhaps McVeety and Disney felt it would be privy to run it by themselves just one more time to make sure that the $1,000,000 extra it cost them to film sounded right this time around? Unsure 😅 CREDITS: Also has revised credits which were revised in England at the end dated 5-29-81. ————————————————————————— ————MY SCRIPTS & THEIR HISTORY———— These scripts are EXTREMELY rare (as are the vast majority on my account). Rarer than many release or post scripts because not only is this script original, but it was most likely utilized during the course of production of the film itself and handled by an executive, a director or someone in the production studio (lighting specialists, etc) - and they surface rarely as a result. In the case of continuities vs. movie scripts, they too are original (at least they are on my account - from the looks of scripts available elsewhere on eBay I would wager 95% are fake/copies freshly printed anymore) and also were used during production and include all of the information generally contained within a standard release script PLUS the background, lighting and stage effects that otherwise are left out of your standard scripts. Again, all of the scripts that I sell are original, they are not reprints or copies, all were collected overtime from the major studios from a PROMINENT serial collector in Ohio over the course of 50+ years (along with everything else that I sell on my account)… An important element in Cleveland’s success as a movie studio hub was the CLEVELAND FILM EXCHANGE BUILDING (also known as Cleveland Film Service and The Academy Film Service) located on the southeast corner of Payne Ave. and East 21st St. Studios and distributors in the specially constructed building performed a film pickup and delivery service, rewound and inspected returned movies, and stored films between showings. In an age when movie theaters would change their offerings several times a week, the films had to be ready to ship. Trucks would move in and out of the Film Exchange Building at all hours of the day and night to serve the more than 700 theaters of northern Ohio. At its peak, fourteen national studios had offices in the building. Cleveland was also home to over a dozen sponsored film studios, including CINECRAFT PRODUCTIONS (established in 1939), ESCAR (1942), GENERAL PICTURES CORP. (1957), and TRI-STATE MOTION PICTURES (1926). Other film studios, with their main offices in other cities, also had sales offices in Cleveland. These included Wilding Studios out of Chicago, the Jam Handy Organization out of Detroit, Roland Reed Productions, Jerry Fairbanks, Inc., and Riviera Productions out of Los Angeles. My items all come from Elmer Kadar - who partially owned the film exchange and The Academy Film Service, as well as Vienna Books and a host of other properties (Kadar was also very wealthy, attended Le Rosey, Exeter and Yale and was family to the ruler of Hungary - Janos Kadar). I am the sole owner of the vast majority of the Cleveland film exchanges receipts, records, photos, lobby cards, posters, scripts, that Kadar meticulously stored in filing cabinets and documented because I purchased his entire estate more than a decade ago. He was a serial collector in many facets. If you browse my items it’ll really shed light into the legitimacy of this listing. A MODERN RECORD: In March of 2024 MegaTraders set a world record for the most valuable set (8) of original lobby cards for a “modern” cartoon fantasy film in the past decade. The set - 1982 The Last Unicorn sold for $4,600 right here on eBay! A COSTLY MISTAKE: In 2012 I mistakenly sold the Gone With The Wind continuity signed by Selznick (I missed the signature as well as the rarity of the piece) for $300 here on eBay. It went on to sell for almost $15,000-$20,000 years later. A rookie mistake and one I vowed to never make again! SOME OF MY RECENT MOVIE SCRIPT SALES: 7/2/2024 “1966 Dangerous Days of Kiowa Jones” $1,600 | 12/10/2023 “1969 On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” $1,300 | 12/08/2023 “1977 Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo” $500 NOTE: These scripts are also available for reference across my eBay account. In the event that a bid or outright purchase of this collection is made all other existing listings will immediately end on my account for the scripts listed within this auction. In the event that an individual script is directly purchased during the course of this auction I will adjust the listing and or take down this listing and restart it with the updated scripts included. Thank you for your understanding! —————————————————————————— SHIPPING: Fast & free via USPS (for USA).
