Description: The 1966 Canadian dollar was a silver coin that featured a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and a voyageur design on the reverse. The coin was 36 mm in diameter and weighed 23.327 grams, and was made of 80% silver and 20% copper. The obverse design was created by Arnold Machin and included the legend "ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA". Emanuel Hahn sculpted the reverse design, which depicts a voyageur and someone of Indigenous descent paddling a birch-bark canoe with cargo labeled "HB" for Hudson Bay. The background includes faint lines that represent the Northern Lights. The voyageur design was used on the Canadian dollar until 1986, when it was replaced by the "loonie". All coins posted at the asking price has been thoroughly researched via PCGS and NGC Price Guides as well as the most recent sales through established and prominent auctions. The coin condition has also been researched through these as well. No coin price listing by Bolen Collectables is based on opinion. Thanks for looking!
