These coins come with heavy cameos.Type 3 1965 Silver Dollars are very scarce in Proof Like condition as they were struck much later in the year, much later then the Proof-Like sets which contain Type 1 and type 2 Dollars.1965 is the first year that the Queen's new effigy appeared on all Canadian coinage from the 1 cent coin - 1 dollar coin. The first new obverse had to be quickly replaced as is gave a poor die life, the problem was the flat fields with small beads wore very quickly. A short trial of medium beads was put in order which showed that a field sloping up at the edge worked much better (larger beads), so the new dies were made with large beads. In addition to these obverse varieties, there are also 2 different varieties of reverses, a pointed 5 and a blunt 5 - this making 5 different major varieties of the 1965 Canadian Silver Dollar.
