Targets for a killer - An aerodynamic drone soars from launching site to become a target for the surface to air HAWK (homing all the way killer) missile during test firing on Ky Hoa Island eight miles north of the Chu Lai air base in South Vietnam. The HAWK is 16 feet long and 16 inches in diameter, capable of making a kill 30 feet from the target. Each of the two Marine antiaircraft missile battalions responsible for protecting U.S. Marine installations from air attack has the capability of firing 18 missiles in less than a minute.
