Martin, sheriff, St. James Parish; Will G. Mangham, director, Louisiana Tourist Development Commission; Mrs. George M. Wallace, regent, Prescott de la Houssaye Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, sponsored of the ceremony; Miss Annie Lou Murphy, director of the tourist commission's historic marker program; Dr. Jo Ann Carrigan, head of the Louisiana history department, Louisiana State University, and Francis A. Waguespack Jr., president, St. James Parish police jury. Charles A. Weimer, associate professor, Nicholls State College, was master of ceremonies and Dr. Carrigan was guest speaker.
