Description: There will only be two complete sets of the 1965 Review of Famous Racing Cars from the "carbking" collection offered. These rare cards were received directly from a former Marhoefer executive decades ago. They are in excellent condition with no weiner stains, no creases, and only very minor wear. They measure roughly 5" x 4". The back of the cards do an excellent job of describing why each car was unique as part of the Indianapolis 500. Please review the pictures to assist with the condition and content of the cards. The Marhoefer Meatpacking Company was founded in 1901 as the Kuhner Packing Company. The Marhoefer family would take over in 1945. Based in Muncie, Indiana, the company would aggressively advertise their sausages and hot dogs in conjunction with the local Indianapolis 500. While very successful for a period of time, several factors would lead Marhoefer to file bankruptcy in 1978. There are 10 cards in the 1965 Marhoefer Review of Famous Racing Cars set. They include: 1912 Joe Dawson/National #8 1914 Eddie Rickenbacker/Duesenberg #10 1915 Earl Cooper/Stutz #4 1925 Dave Lewis/Junior 8 #2 1937 Wilbur Shaw/Gilmore Special #6 1941 Al Miller/Miller Special #12 1946 Mel Hansen/Ross-Page Special #41 1951 Lee Wallard/Belanger Special #99 1952 Troy Ruttman/Agajanian Special #98 1964 Bobby Johns/Hurst Floor Shift Special #47 Please review the other racing items I have listed at the eBay store, The Checkered Past.
