Description: This 1965 Ford Falcon Ranchero Deluxe is a Southern California native, ordered through the Los Angeles sales office, with the seller being the second owner. The first owner removed the original black license plates for personalized ones, but the current owner was able to prove the Ranchero's heritage and acquired original California black and yellow plates from its year of origin (very important for both DMV and collectors seeking authenticity) and installed them as they should be. Seller will make sure plates are current should the Ranchero be sold to a California resident. If not, then seller reserves the right to keep the CA plates. This is the second time for this Ranchero to be listed this year and the reserve has been significantly reduced. It is priced to sell as a great Christmas/Holiday gift. The Ranchero has a stock 289 V8 with Cruise-O-Matic on the column. The only modifications are an aftermarket aluminum radiator custom-fitted to the Ranchero that helps maintain a cooler ride, as well as chrome Weiand valve covers and an Edelbrock chromed air cleaner cover. The interior consists of two bucket seats with Falcon markings on the seatbacks. The previous owner installed a nice, usable console with cupholders that makes for one cohesive unit, but it is removable for the buyer who wants things to look original (photos show both the console in place and its removal). The glovebox is brand new and the spare tire sits comfortably behind the driver seat. The radio is original and works intermittently. The dashboard is protected with a custom-molded mat and is unblemished underneath. Ranchero-branded floor mats protect your feet. All gauges work - the horn is a bit hit-or-miss - while the mileage of 71,947 is original. The Ranchero runs solidly, with manual steering, drum brakes all around and period 195/75-14 steel-belted whitewall tires. The eye-catcher is the spinner wire-style wheel covers with the Falcon red, white and blue crest in the middle. These are clean and featured on all four covers. The gas cap is the original metal spin-on and -off and the truck comes with an original spare cap as well. The tailgate fits perfectly, shuts tightly and the bed is clean and without scratches or dents. No 60-year-old vehicle is without its blemishes and there is one crack in the black paint on the hood, located in the middle and along one of the crests (a picture with the seller's finger pointing to it shows it). There is a bit of overspray - the truck was repainted once about 2010 by the previous owner - on the top of the lip of each quarter panel. There are several scratches, only one noticeable on the driver side door. All chrome is good. Molding around the doors could stand to be replaced and the seller has provided new molding for the next owner. The muffler needs replacement. Again, the revised price reflects these items needing attention. Otherwise, the Ranchero has been garaged during its entire life (with a cover, too) and reflects the care and respect it deserves. The current owner holds a clean California title in his name. The oil was changed and coolant flushed in June 2024.Door Tag info:66H - Deluxe Ranchero with Bucket SeatsY - Silver Blue82 - Light Blue Sierra Vinyl & Medium Blue Sierra Vinyl28H - 28 August 1965 71 - DSO – Los Angeles6 - C4 Automatic – XP6 - 2.80:1
