Label: "Jacket, Flying, Man's Intermediate Type MA-1 - Size Medium - Stock No. 8415-818-7352 - MIL-J-8279C - Skyline Clothing Corporation - DA-36-243-QM(CTM)8922-C-61 - 58% Wool 42% Cotton - Dry Clean Only". Manufacturer: Skyline Clothing Corporation. Year of manufacture: 1961. USA. Markings or personalization: none. I recently acquired this jacket from the estate of the original owner. CONDITION: SAGE SIDE: Possibly 1 or 2 tiny superficial holes in the knit collar (that do not go all the way through the collar). 1 small superficial hole in the wear's right cuff near where it attaches to the sleeve (does not go all the way through the cuff). 3 or 4 small superficial holes to the knit waistband on the wearer's front right side (these do not go all the way through the waistband). Faint discoloration to the front above the wearer's right pocket (I did not attempt to clean or have this jacket cleaned in any way). The leather pull tab on the zipper pull broke off as I was photographing the jacket (I put it in the shoulder pocket for safe keeping). There is a plastic ID sleeve stitched onto the wearer's left breast. It appears there are 3 machine stitched repairs to holes in the sage nylon shell underneath this ID sleeve. (This stitching is more obvious when viewed on the orange side. The holes do not appear to go all the way through the jacket.) An approximately 3" long section of the wearer's left pocket lining seam has opened up. While the 2 shoulder patches look symmetrical and well-placed on the sage side, you can see from the orange side that patch on the wearer's right shoulder is not at all symmetrical with respect to the lining and insulation and this patch is actually conspicuously distorting and twisting the wearer's right shoulder (notice the wearer's right shoulder appears a little pinched in the photos). FOR THIS REASON YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY WANT TO CAREFULLY REMOVE THESE PATCHES so that the jacket sits normally on the shoulders. See photos for all of this. Otherwise this jacket is in very good original condition on the sage side with no other damage or significant wear. No other restorations. No other discolorations. No other holes. No scuffs, scratches, tears. No other opened seams. No wear to elbows. No wear to knit elements. I have not had this jacket cleaned. It is generally clean as found. No unpleasant odors. From a smoke free home. The zippers are functional with no issues. Snaps are functional with no issues. The pocket linings are clean with no issues. ORANGE SIDE: Small vertical tear in the orange nylon above the stitching for the ID sleeve. One small superficial hole to the bottom edge of the waistband on wearer's front left side. Scattered small snags in the wearer's right breast area. See photos for all of this. Otherwise this jacket is in very good original condition on the orange side with no other damage or significant wear. No restorations. I see no evidence the jacket was ever worn with orange side out. No other holes or snags or tears. No scuffs, scratches. No wear to elbows. No wear to knit elements. I have not had this jacket cleaned. It is generally clean as found. No stains or discolorations. No unpleasant odors. From a smoke free home. The zippers are functional with no issues. Snaps are functional with no issues. The pocket linings are clean with no issues.
