Description: In 1961 Roger Maris shocked the baseball world by hitting 61 home runs* (sorry, I couldn't resist the asterisk), This card has some signs of wear with a crease in the upper right side of tjhe card you can see on the photo (in front of the batting cage) and a second crease that starts where the bat changes color and goes down the bat, through the red Yankees part and to the bottom of the card. Almost missed this but there is a stain that starts right where that shadow on Maris ends at the bottom of the card that discolors the yellow a little. It kind of looks like the shadow just continued off the portrait and onto the lettering. That's why I almost missed it. Corners are all fairly rounded and the portrait is not particularly well centered. The back is okay although you can see evidence of the first crease on that side too. Still it's not a bad card to look at and is nice to have if you have a Mantle of the same year (just sold mine).
