All maps are inspected and are in excellent pre-owned unused condition.One of the most popular National Geographic maps issued in advance of the 100th anniversary of the American Civil War. The front of this two-sided map covers the area from Louisiana-Arkansas- Missouri (on the west) and the east coast states up into Pennsylvania (to the east). On this map in blue (Union) and red (Confederate) are many notations of events that occurred at specific points during the war. On the front is a map inset of the major offensives that occurred. The reverse side is divided into 2 parts (shown in the photos), one side titled “The Cockpit of the War” which covers in detail lower Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia and the events which occurred in those areas. On this side are map insets of Grant at Richmond, Gettysburg, Charleston Harbor, and Fort Sumter. The other half of this side of the map contains map insets of the War in the Southwest (New Mexico and Texas), Vicksburg Campaign, Battles for Atlanta, Nashville to Atlanta, and Memphis to Huntsville.
