Description: 1960s Men's Croton Manual Wind Watch This is a cool vintage men's Croton Aquamatic automatic wind watch, made in Switzerland sometime during the 1960s. The 17 jewel AJRN A4690 / AS 1686 movement has been cleaned and oiled, and the watch is running well and keeping accurate time. The dial is in very good condition - there are some tiny silver spots in the upper section (looks like over spray or something), but really not that noticeable unless looking very closely under light. Note that the original luminescent material was removed and replaced with non toxic material, so the minute hand, hour hand, and all index ends glow in the dark after being exposed to a light source. The silver plated case has been cleaned and polished, and shows surface scratches and a few tiny dings throughout from past use but nothing major. A brand new acrylic crystal has been installed, and while this watch was designed to be waterproof with the special screwback case and gasket, I would treat it like any other vintage watch and not submerge it in water. A brand new black leather strap has been installed. Overall, the watch is in very good condition and ready for your wrist!
