The bowl first appears in the 1959 Blenko catalogue shown as No. 5936-L Bowl 6 1/2" and 5936-S Bowl 6". The color Nile was only in production in 1959.The bowl has the sandblasted copyright BLENKO mark used from Spring 1958 to Summer 1961. The bowl is round with a flared lip presented in green with a clear glass base. There is an unpolished pontil mark on the base. The bowl weighs 3 pounds 5.7 ounces and measures 3 5/8" in height and 6 3/8" in diameter at the upper rim and 4 3/4" in diameter at the base. There are minor air bubbles in the hand blown glass. When found the base had a felt pad so there are no surface scratches on the base. Overall the bowl is in very good vintage condition free of chips, cracks, breaks or repairs.
