Description: For Sale is an Ultra Rare 1957 TYPE 1 Original Photo of Mickey Mantle. In this famous image Mantle is captured smashing snowballs and having fun while playing in the snow during a cold off-season. He was still on a high from wrapping up his, once said, "Favorite Season". Mantle statically crushed the 1956 season with 52 home runs and 130 RBIs holding down a .353 batting avg. This thrusted him into the World Series against the Dodgers with his defense holding down Larsen's "Perfect Game" and winning the World Series. He would walk away with a Triple Crown Award, A.L.MVP, and being named Associated Press "Male Athlete of the Year." Then would be asked to come down to Yankees Stadium to sign a new contract for $60,000. The Yankees brass had called Pulitzer Prize photographer Nat Fein, of the New York Herald Tribune. Having won a Pulitzer Prize for his previous work shooting Babe Ruth with his "Babe Bows Out" photograph which was done on a whim covering for a co-worker while he was sick. A photo-journalist that specialized in captivating human interests became known for capturing one of the most prolific moments in baseball history. Even with a high supply of original "Babe Bows Out" photos, they have catapulted up to $70k+ in recent auctions.
