1957 Ford Fairlane

Description: For Sale: 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Important: If you have no feedback history, please contact me before placing a bid. I bought this '57 Fairlane in 2020, and while it was an older restoration, I’ve made several upgrades. The previous owner installed a 302 engine and AOD overdrive transmission, re-chromed the bumpers and grille, updated the interior, and repainted the car among other things. Since my ownership, I’ve done the following:Installed new front shocks and Aerostar front springsHad the transmission rebuilt (with paperwork)Installed new transmission cooler lines and brake linesReplaced both rear wheel cylindersConverted the front brakes to a disc system with all new parts, bearings, seals, hoses, calipers, rotors, etc.Upgraded to a dual master cylinder with power assistMounted and balanced four new tiresAdded new park lenses and a trunk sealHad a custom driveshaft made with new universal jointsPerformed minor body repairs, including sanding and applying acid etch and high build primer to areas with cracked paint and surface rust. I have the paint code for easy repainting, as I planned to add a cool Watson-style flamed paint job. Extras included with the car:A good windshield (current one has a few wiper blade scratches)An extra hoodA nice factory steering wheel with power steering column and box (just needs a pump and bracket to work with the 302)Front sway bar and two extra front fenders Current Status: The car needs complete rewiring; I removed most of the original harness due to its poor condition. My plan was to use a GM-style aftermarket harness, along with a one-wire alternator, HEI distributor, and a mini-starter for simplicity and reliability. The engine and transmission are from a 1980 Ford LTD, featuring an aluminum intake and a 4-barrel Holley carburetor. The engine looks great inside. The body is in very good shape, and the underside is clean with no major rust issues. With some wiring work, an alignment, and a brake bleed, this car is nearly ready to drive. This Fairlane would make a fantastic cruiser for someone who has the time and interest. Feel free to reach out with any questions or for additional photos.
