Description: The Smith Corona Silent Supers from the 1950s were popular, dependable, and affordable typewriters...and still as bulletproof today as then. 'Silent" refers to there being sound-deadening installed and 'Super' refers to the dynamic tab set feature that was new to the market in the 50's. This model is the "Desert Sand" color, in excellent shape, and completely functional. I did a light service to confirm function, but barely needed any work. And I installed a fresh ribbon. Light scuff marks and wear here and there. Only very obvious wear is in carriage area highlighted in picture. Case is classic "holiday" case that you can remove typewriter and pack anything you. User manual is a printed period-appropriate reproduction. I received this one in a large lot of typewriters and already have a nearly identical one that started my collection. If you're wanting to start into the vintage typewriter hobby--this is a great way to start!
