From the collection of Robert Flowers, who worked at General Electric Company from 1923-1962 in Atlanta, Georgia, where we believe he was in the Installation and Service Engineering Department. The company was located at 1860 Peachtree Rd NW. Mr. Flowers lived at 554 Lawton Street SW in Atlanta, along with his wife Dorothy, and two children, Bobby and Dorothy. The family home still stands today. The collection has several photos from Candler Field with several images of historic aircraft and people, with some aerial photos. Mr. Flowers did a lot of field work for General Electric, so there are photos of installations at Mitchell Dam in Alabama, Norris Dam in Tennessee, St. Petersburg , Mulberry and Arcadia, Florida, Brown Paper Mill in Monroe, Louisiana, and more. Flowers also worked on boats, including submarines, light vessels and motor ships, and there are many photos of these vessels. Bob was a pilot, taking his first flight at Candler Field in 1926. His hobbies included photography and his ham radio. Descriptions and dates are taken from writing in photo albums and not from the back of the photos. SIZE/WEIGHT: 5" x 7". CONDITION: EXCELLENT.
