Description: THE POEMS OF EMILY DICKINSON - Including variant readings critically compared with all known manuscripts. Edited by Thomas H. Johnson. This is VOLUME III of a three volume set, consisting of Poems 1177-1775, an Appendix, Subject Index, and Index of First Lines. CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS: The Belknap Press of Harvard University Press, 1955. This was the personal copy of the poet GARY SNYDER. His early SIGNATURE, PLACE and DATE are at the bottom of the front pastedown: "Gary Snyder / Berkeley 1965". Hardcovers, cloth covered boards, 6.5x9.5 inches. Pagination: [8], 821-1266 (the pages of the three volume set were numbered consecutively). VERY GOOD condition, the covers have light wear to the spine ends and corner tips, the inner pages have light toning to the edges, overall tight, bright, clean, clear and unmarked. A solid, very nice copy. A book of poetry by one of the Greatest Poets of the 19th Century owned by one of the Greatest Poets of the 20th century. I like it.
