Description: This lot consists of Card #27, Hans " The Munich Menace" Schmidt, with a bio back, from one of the scarcer of the early fifties sets, Parkhurst Canada's Wrestling set of 75. Of course Hans was actually Guy Larose, a French-Canadian turned into the mot talented Wrestling "Heels" of all time, in his 27 year career. The cards are the same size as the 1954-55 Parkies Hockey, and on the same stock. This was the first pro wrestling set of the modern card producing era and as late has become quite desireable, as the dust has settled over the sixty odd-years since they came out, and it appears that they didn't produce a whole bunch, certainly a tiny fraction of what they printed of the hockey, and the top performers and fan favorites seem to be commanding higher and higher prices. As historical pedigree they seem to be not very different from the current WWE in racial stereotypes, villains, signature moves, and hype. Condition is vg with what appears to be a crease, but doesn't bend like it is creased, and size is 2 1/2"x almost 3 5/8" FREE SHIPPING INCLUDED TO CANADA OR USA.
