Description: 1953 was the first year Royal Copenhagen dropped the word JUL (Christmas) from their Christmas plates. They chose Frederiksborg Castle on the island of Zealand. It was closely tied to the Royal Family, being the site of Coronations until 1839 and of summer vacations. However, it burnt down 1859 and was rebuilt by Jacobsen, the brewer tycoon, and now serves as a museum. It's in excellent condition. I am also moving on and lot of other Royal Copenhagen Christmas plates and can combine shipping.
