Description: 1953 Ponca City Wildcats vs Enid HS Football Program Oklahoma OU’s Chuck Bowman. This is a game program from the Ponca City Wildcats vs Enid Plainsmen high school football game from October 23, 1953 at Blaine Stadium (now named Sullins Stadium) in Ponca City. The Wildcats were coached by Oklahoma Coaches Hall of Famer Earl Sullins (current namesake of the stadium). The Ponca City roster included Chuck Bowman, who would go on to play for Bud Wilkinson's Oklahoma Sooners and win national championships in 1955 and 1956. Bowman would later go on to coach NEO at Miami, Oklahoma and won two NJCAA national championships and served as president of the National Football Coaches Association. The Wildcat roster also included Dick Wilson, Don Tooman, Billy Taiclit, and Jack Rein. The Plainsmen were coached by Charles Paine, John Provost, and Jim Stroup. Their roster included Tim Holden, Wade Arnold, Bill McDaniels, Rooky Dykes, and future Oklahoma Sooner John Pellow. Program is approximately 6.25" x 9.5".
