Description: Up for sale is a 1953 Press Award from the North Carolina Press Association awarded to well known journalist Simmons Fentress for first place for "Best Feature Writing : Daily Division". Fentress went on to become a well known journalist for Time magazine where he covered the civil rights movement, was the bureau chief in Saigon and eventually the correspondent from Washington D.C. Award is signed by the president and secretary of the Association( William James ?(not sure of the signature) and Beatrice Cobb respectively). It measures approximately 12 x 18 inches in a frame. In nice condition with some wear. There appears to be some foxing / staining to the document as well as some browning. The document is in its original frame and frame looks like it is from the 50's.
