These photos were provided by the team to newspapers, magazines and various outlets, often providing standard portraits of players to be used whenever needed. They were issued in limited quantities and are surprisingly tough to find these days. They're also increasingly popular with collectors, so get them while you can! Here I have a very nice black and white photo, 8x8 1/2 with clipped corners, showing Don Bollweg, infielder for the New York Yankees. The photo dates from 1953, Bollweg's only year with the Yankees. It's in collectible condition, trimmed down from 8x10 and with the corners clipped (not unusual for a photo that's been prepared for paste-up for use in a newspaper). (see scan).
